Our 1st annual hot dog eating contest, held on July 25, 2009 at our Jax Beach location, was a complete success!
There was standing room only in the restaurant. We had 6 competitors total. Everyone was given 24 hot dogs to eat within a 10 minute time frame or at the end of the 10 minutes the person who ate the most, won. Who would have guessed we had a 3-way tie. All three men ate 14 hot dogs in 10 minutes. So we had a tie breaker. Who ever could eat the most dogs within 1 minute.
Jon Bello ate 3 more, for a total of 17 hot dogs. He received a $50.00 gift certificate, t-shirt, a trophy and title of Orange Tree Hot Dogs' hot dog eating champion 2009. We hope Jon will come back next year to defend his title.
It was a fun day for all!
